Frelonte L. Mathis

Funeral Services for Mr. Frelonte L. Mathis will be held on Sunday June 24, 2018 at 1:00 PM at Living Faith Baptist Church 1333 Bailey Lane, Dublin, Georgia. Pastor Jamie T. Paulk will officiate. Interment will follow at the Bay Springs Baptist Church Cemetery, Warthen, Georgia.

Frelonte L. Mathis was born on September 25, 1974, in Augusta, Georgia.  He is the son of Freddie Stallworth of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Mary B. Mathis of Sandersville, Georgia.   He peacefully transitioned to his eternal resting place on Tuesday, June 19, 2018, in Augusta, Georgia.

Frelonte, affectionately known as “Uncle Velvet,” was devoted to his family and worked hard to ensure that his mother, his sister, and nieces were taken care of him ungrudgingly.  He was an inspiration to the young, as well as, the old and touched so many lives with his wit and his love for grilling. 

Frelonte was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harvey Mathis, Sr. and Essie Mae Mathis; his cousins, Rashad Mathis, Malik Glasgow and his aunt Beatrice Mathis. He leaves to cherish his precious memories a loving mother, Mary; his sister, Mesheya Mathis and his nieces, Ayanna and Makenley, all of Dublin, Georgia.  He also leaves to cherish his memories, devoted uncles, Harvey (Yvonne) Mathis, Jr. of Lithonia, Georgia, Richard (Louise) Mathis of Decatur, Georgia, Charles (Mary) Mathis of Sandersville, Georgia, Darnell (Carla) Biggins of Sandersville, Georgia, and Marcus Biggins of Atlanta, Georgia; aunts, Rochelle Biggins of Sandersville, Georgia, Ellean (George) Thomas of New Castle, Delaware, Irish Garrett of Summerville, South Carolina. Frelonte also leaves a host of devoted cousins, relatives, and friends to cherish his precious memories.

Mr. Mathis will be placed in the sanctuary of Living Faith Baptist Church one hour prior to service hour. Public viewing will be held on Saturday, June 23 at the funeral home. Services by Serenity Funeral Home, Dublin.
