Funeral Services for Mrs. Nancy Lee Varner will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 1:00PM at Evening Spring Baptist Church 4826 Country Club Road Lanett, Alabama. Rev. Billy Drakes will officiate. Interment will follow at the Evening Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
February 9, 1933 in Troup County, Ga marked a joyous occasion for Bradley Tom and Ollie Lee (Atkinson) Hairston, A beautiful baby girl was born, and the name Nancy was given to her.
Nancy, one of 12 children, was predeceased by her parents Bradley Tom and Ollie Lee, siblings, Bradley T., John Willie, Charlie, Rosie Lee, Lizzie M., Mary H. and Martha.
Nancy confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Bethlehem Baptist Church, West Point Ga., where she served for many years. In later years she further served with Evening Spring Baptist Church.
Nancy had always been a very hard worker. She was employed with the WPS-Fairfax Mill & West Point Motel for many years.
Throughout Nancy’s life she has cared and nurture her many nieces and nephews as if they were her very own. This same love was shared with her brothers and sisters.
Her greatest joys were cooking, singing, herbalist by experience, serving God and her family! She took pride in giving her service where she thought was needed.
Nancy leaves a legacy of memories to a dedicated and devoted brother in love, Rev Elijah (Farris) Jackson Jr., Lanett Al; devoted niece Mary F. (Norman) Bagley, LaGrange Ga; two loving nephews, Christopher (Sharon) Jackson, Lawrenceville Ga., and Lace Yahrohn (Lynn) Jackson, Charlotte NC; Loving & devote siblings; Enna R (Joseph), Hubbard, Ypsilanti, MJ; Mattie R (Henry) Johnson, Annie R (Frank) Johnson, Arthur (Lana) Hairston, Jess (Carol) Hairston, Port Wentworth Ga.
