Daniel "Jay" Cameron Jr., 64, of Dexter, passed away Thursday, May 19, 2022. Jay was born on May 9, 1958 to the late Jack and Nelda Cameron. Jay graduated from West Laurens High School and attended Middle Georgia College. A man of many talents, he worked as an ironworker and welder. His artistic ability was unparalleled as shown in his work as a taxidermist and wood sculptor. Jay's greatest happiness was found in his titles of "little grandpa" and "dot dot" which his grandchildren named him.

He is survived by his wife, Arleen Cameron; children: Michelle Wilkinson, Shay (Eric) Grimes, Daniel (Emily) Cameron III, and Sara Cravey; grandchildren: Braxton Cameron and Arley Grimes; siblings: Wilbur (Kristy) Cameron, Tami (Don) Brantley, Scott (Tasha) Cameron, and Landon (Riley) Cameron; loyal dog, Rufus, and a host of other relatives.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Baker Baptist Church, Rentz, GA. Pastor Joey Diers will officiate.
