Graveside Services for Mrs. Dorothy Jean Simmons will be held Friday, December 31, 2021. Location: Graham Memorial Cemetery 112 Graham Church Road, East, Dublin, Georgia 31027. Rev. Keith Smith will serve as eulogist.

Mrs. Dorothy Jean Simmons born July 3, 1949 in Dublin, Georgia to the parents of Mr. Levin Akridge and Mrs. Colleen Akridge. Dorothy transitioned to be with the Lord Wednesday, December 29, 2021. She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Levin Akridge; sister, Geraldine Akridge; paternal grandparents, Annie B Horton- Akridge and Arthur Akridge; and maternal grandparents Georgia Floyd Moore and Oliver Moore.

Dorothy loved her family and grandchildren. She looked forward to spending holidays with them. Dorothy loved to talk to new people and spread joy to others.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her wonderful husband, Timothy Simmons; mother, Mrs. Colleen Akridge; children, Matt (Angie) Hasty and Ginger (Shane) Hasty-Grinstead; bonus children, Steven Simmons and Laura Simmons; grandchildren, Darren (Maci) Barwick, Jacob (Shelby) Barwick, Kipp (Kristina) Barwick, Cam Hasty, Blake Grinstead, Katelyn Grinstead, Austin Grinstead; Great-Granddaughter, Riley Jo Barwick; sister, Debbie (Michael) Sterling ; nieces, Melissa (Justin) Self, Erin Sterling ; nephew, Blake (Haley) Sterling and a  host of friends and love ones.
