Funeral Services for Mr. Ernest Tolbert, Jr. will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00AM. Location: Serenity Funeral Home 414 Telfair Street, Dublin. Rev. Larry Foreman will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow at Jackville Cemetery 20 Pinckney Colony Road Bluffton, South Carolina.
Mr. Ernest Tolbert Jr. was born on January 22, 1948 in Savannah, Georgia to the parentage of the late Mr. Ernest Tolbert Sr. and Annie Mae (Bush) Tolbert. Ernest passed into eternal rest on April 16, 2022.
Mr. Ernest Tolbert, Jr. was preceded in death by two brothers; Jesse Bush, Ephraim Brown, and one sister, Diana Tolbert.
Ernest was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend to friends and family. He was educated at Alfred Ely Beach High School in 1966.Ernest was a veteran and served in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina. He later retired from Bluffton, South Carolina Post Office after 14 years of faithful service.
Mr. Tolbert leaves to cherish his memories his loving and devoted wife, Annie Mae (Durham) Tolbert, of Locust Grove, GA; three children, Ernest J. Tolbert of Bronx, New York, Kevin (Ronnie) Tolbert of New Jersey, Lawrence (Mona Lisa) Tolbert of Upstate, New York; one step son, Calvin (Elaine) Durham of Locust Grove; two brothers, Marshal Tolbert and Bill Tolbert of Warner Robins; seven grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Serenity Funeral Home, Dublin has charge of arrangements.
