Celebration of Life Services for Bishop Herman Hart Powell, Sr. will be held Monday, February 19, 2024 at 2:30PM. Location: Church of Jesus Christ - Scott, Georgia.

Herman H. Powell was born July 11, 1940 to Herbert and Alma Powell of Macon, Georgia. He served in the Army as a Radio Control in the Korean War. He was the assistant Pastor of The Church of Jesus Christ -Scott, Georgia where he served as General Overseer of The Church of Jesus Christ Charter number 3146 for 10 years. He was a carpenter and a mechanic by trade for most of his life. He worked as a Custodian for Emanuel County Schools the last several years of his working career.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Alma Powell, sister, Jean Powell Brown, daughter, Elaine Holmes, step-daughter, Wendy D. Marich, and step-son, Michael D. Scales.

He leaves to cherish his memories of 47 years, Zona M. Pearce Powell, daughters, Roxie Powell, Donna Denton, Stephanie Kapp (Todd), son, Herman Powell, Jr. (Ashley), step-son, Clifton Scales (Sheila), and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 18, 2024 from 5:00-8:00PM at Church of Jesus Christ – Scott, Georgia.
