Celebration of Life Services for Ms. LaZariah Simone Edwards will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 2:00PM. Location: New Day Church of Nazarene - 8561 GA Highway 85 Riverdale, Georgia. Rev. Anthony Walker will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park and Mausoleum 6841 Tara Blvd. - Jonesboro, Georgia.

LaZariah Simone Edwards, whom we affectionately called "Zariah." Zariah was born on April 22, 2003, in Riverdale, Georgia, to the proud parents of LaQuanda Jaques' Cutts and Willie Douglas Edwards, Jr.

Zariah was an amazing daughter and big sister. She was dependable, protective, and always looked out for her siblings. She was admirable, strong, embraced life with joy, and loved those around her wholeheartedly, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met. She enjoyed cooking, listening to music—especially Nicki Minaj—and playing The Sims on her PS5.

LaZariah was an exceptionally focused, determined, respectful, and hardworking young woman. She graduated from McDonough High School in 2021 and continued her academic journey at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia, home of the Mighty Eagles. In December 2025, she proudly earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. Following graduation, LaZariah remained in Statesboro, where she was employed by Hyundai Glovis. Never one to stop pursuing her goals, LaZariah had recently been accepted into the fall nursing cohort and was eagerly anticipating returning to school to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.). She was passionately working toward her dream of becoming a registered nurse, a career that reflected her caring spirit and desire to make a difference in the lives of others.

On Sunday, July 5, 2026, God called one of His angels home from her earthly life to eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her brother, Justin Martez; her sister, London A'nise; and her paternal great-grandmother, Sarah Edwards, whom she loved dearly and with whom she shared a special bond.

LaZariah leaves behind a legacy of love and an abundance of cherished memories. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted mother, LaQuanda Jaques' Cutts (Jonathan Finley); her sisters, JaNylah Edwards and Arianna Edwards; her brothers Tyler Edwards and Logan Gainey and her beloved "puphew," Bentley, all of McDonough, Georgia. Her loving father, Willie Douglas (Tyshaun) Edwards Jr., her sisters, Giana Edwards, Maliyah Edwards, and JaToyah Edwards; and her brothers, William Edwards, Sakai Edwards, and Jiraiya Edwards all of Riverdale, Georgia. Bonus siblings: Gabrielle Finley, Kamryn Finley, Aaliyah Finley, Jaela Finley, and Jonathan Finley, Jr. Maternal grandparents, Barbara Watts, Winfred (Glynis) Cutts, Artis (Marsha) Walker, and step-grandmother, Johnnie (Kenneth) Finley-Roper; her paternal grandparents, Regina Logan and Willie (Valerie) Edwards Sr.; six uncles, Ben Mathis, Antonio Harris, Willie Cutts, Winfred Nahum Cutts, Wesley Harris, Deonte Edwards, and Brandon Edwards; six aunts, Yawnita (Robert) Harvey, Denetria (Demario) Hopkins, Shateria (Timothy) Watts, Winnetta Cutts, Whitney Cutts, and Jada (Leishna) Logan; her loving friend, Latavion Hopson; and a host of beloved great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, extended family members, and friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.
