Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Marie Smith Salter will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026, at 12:00 Noon. Location: Serenity Funeral Home 414 Telfair Street – Dublin, Georgia. Rev. Kendrick K Mack will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow at Smith Family Cemetery. Public viewing will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Serenity Funeral Home - Dublin from 11AM until 7PM.

Mrs. Marie Smith Salter was born on December 31, 1925, to the late Owen and Mozell McCullars. She lived a long and blessed life, marked by faith, love, hard work, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Marie was united in holy matrimony with the late Lemmie Smith, and together they were blessed with nine children. As a devoted wife and mother, she dedicated her life to nurturing her family and providing a loving home. Though she endured the heartbreaking loss of three sons at an early age, she remained a pillar of strength and resilience for those she loved.

Known for her caring spirit and strong work ethic, Marie spent many years working as a private sitter, compassionately caring for others in their times of need. Her kindness, patience, and gentle nature touched countless lives and left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Mozell McCullars; her husband, Lemmie Smith; three sons, Linton Smith, Alvin Smith, and David Smith; two grandsons, Chris Moore and Carlos Smith; one great-granddaughter, Covah O. Taylor; a daughter-in-law, Cynthia P. Smith; and a son-in-law, Okey Hammonds.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories in the hearts of her children: Jeanell Hammonds of Jamaica, New York; Nathaniel Smith, Brenda Moore, and Lennie Tharpe, all of Rentz, Georgia. She is also survived by her beloved daughters-in-love, Rosie Smith and Karen Smith; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

Mrs. Marie Smith Salter's life was a testament to perseverance, compassion, and the enduring power of family. Her love, wisdom, and gentle presence will be deeply missed, but her legacy will continue to live on through the many lives she touched. May her memory forever remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew and loved her.
