Celebration of Life Services for Ms. Sadie Mae Smith will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 11AM. Location: New Vision Missionary Baptist Church – 301 Smith Street Vidalia, Georgia. Reverend Willie Edwards, Jr. will serve as eulogist. Public viewing will be held on Friday, August 21, 2026, from 5PM until 7PM at Serenity Funeral Home of Dublin. Ms. Sadie Mae Smith was born on January 6, 1955, in Laurens County, to Mr. Henry Lee Smith and Mrs. Effie Curry Smith.

Ms. Smith was full of life and never allowed her disability to define her. She was known as the family photographer, always enjoying the opportunity to capture special memories. She loved shopping, fashion, looking her best, and taking part in pageants.

Ms. Smith never met a stranger and enjoyed gospel music, bingo, social gatherings, and traveling. During the holiday season, she found immense joy serving as a Bell Ringer for the Salvation Army, where her dedication was recognized with an award. She loved the Lord and was a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church, East Dublin, Georgia.

Ms. Smith will be remembered for her love of life, her beautiful sense of style, her joyful spirit, her sassiness, her ability to live life on her own terms, and the special memories she created with those who knew and loved her.

Ms. Smith transitioned into the presence of the Lord on Monday, August 17, 2026.

Ms. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Henry Lee and Effie Smith; siblings, Henrietta Wicker, Rosetta Lovett, Christine Jackson, and Charles Lewis Smith; nephew, Lee Willie Lovett.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her sister, Marietta Richards; nieces and nephews, Pastor Elizabeth (the late Jimmy E.) Cordy, Sr., Pearl (Darby) Harris, Mariann Dixon, John Lovett, Sara (Anthony) Simmons, Debra Sue (Elmo) Jordan, Debrann Lovett, Janice Harrell, Lonnie (Denise) Wicker, Jr., Brenda Lockett, Robert Wicker, Billy Wicker, Travis Richards, Tequilla Richards, Nina Smith and Sasha Richards-Rice; and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
