Funeral Services for Mr. Von "Bay" Ashely will be held Thursday, November 30, 2023 at 11:00AM at Mt. Tilla Baptist Church 2424 Highway 441 North – Irwinton. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Rev. Ellis A. Carswell we serve as eulogist.

Von E. Ashley known as "Bay" was born January 31, 1945 in Dublin, Georgia. He was the son of the late Sennie "Emma" Ashley. He joined Mt. Tilla Baptist Church at an early age and served as an Usher. He was married to the late Julia Agnes Ashley.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sennie Ashley, brother, Lewis Ashley and one sister, Anenelias Williams.

For many years, he was a hard-working dedicated employee for Payne Brothers Logging and was later employed by Laurens County Recycling Center. He enjoyed gardening, cooking, giving, eating soul food, and riding his Polaris.

On November 24, 2023 at Fairview Park Hospital the angels of mercy called Mr. Ashley home.

He leaves to cherish his memorial his children: Angela Loraine Moore-Washington and Tracy Holliman, stepchildren, Shirley (Kendrick) Glover, Margo Ashley, Thomas (Cornelia) Ashley, Minister Vanessa (Cedric) Holliman-Storay; one brother, Martin (Joella) Ashley, grandchildren, Nicole Washington and 14 step-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.

Visitation will be held at "JB Hall Memorial" Chapel of Serenity Funeral Home Wednesday, November 29, 2023 from 6:00-7:00PM.
