Graveside services for Mr. Wendell Watkins will be held Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 1:00 PM Location: Kurtz Cemetery Payne Cook Road Montrose, Ga. Reverend Philip Jones will serve as eulogist.

Mr. Watkins was born January 22, 1950 to the late Griner and Rosa Watkins. He transitioned at Fairview Park Hospital Dublin, Ga May 12, 2022. Mr. Watkins joined Byrd Hill Baptist Church at an early age and was a constant companion with his mother as she taught Sunday School. He enjoyed music and art work. He taught himself to paint and to play the guitar. He was a 1968 graduate of Millville High School and attended Fort Valley State College. Mr. Watkins considered himself a consummate business man as he invested and managed rental properties.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, Griner and Rosa Watkins; son, Thurston Watkins. He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Watkins of St. Louis, Missouri; three grandchildren; brothers, Virgil (Rosa) Watkins of Macon, Georgia, Columbus Watkins of Macon, Georgia, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
