William O'Neal Cofer, originally of Atlanta, Georgia, peacefully entered into eternal rest at the age of 69, in East Dublin, Georgia, leaving behind a lifetime of treasured memories and a legacy of love, service, and devotion to family.

Born and raised in Atlanta, William was a graduate of O'Keefe High School. Following graduation, he answered the call to serve his country with honor and distinction by enlisting in the United States Navy, where he faithfully served four years. His military service reflected the strength, commitment, and sense of duty that remained hallmarks of his character throughout his life.

William found joy in the simple pleasures that made life meaningful. He had a deep appreciation for the beauty and tranquility of the mountains, where he found peace and renewal. A devoted automobile enthusiast, he eagerly attended car shows, enjoying not only the classic vehicles but also the friendships and conversations they inspired. He was also a loyal supporter of the Georgia Bulldogs, cheering them on with unwavering enthusiasm each season.

Above all else, William treasured his family. He shared a loving and devoted marriage with his beloved wife, Teresa Cofer, whose steadfast love and companionship blessed his life through every season. Together they built a home filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.

William was an exceptionally proud grandfather to Zane Paul, Katie Paul, Kayleigh Paul, Kayla Paul, Kayvann Paul, and Kayzlinn Paul. His grandchildren were among his greatest blessings, and he delighted in watching them grow while creating memories they will forever hold dear. He also leaves to cherish his memory his two stepsons, Johnathan Paul and Michael Paul; his stepdaughter, Angie Tanner; his nieces, Denise Stooksbury and Tracy Boyett; his nephews, Clay Moore and Michael Green; and his beloved cousin, Tina Burns, along with many extended family members and dear friends who were touched by his kindness and generous spirit.

William was preceded in death by his loving parents, Percy Albert Cofer and Lilian Brown Cofer, and by his beloved sister, Theodora Cofer Green.

Those who knew William will remember his warm smile, gentle heart, unwavering loyalty, and genuine love for those around him. Whether he was enjoying the peaceful mountain scenery, admiring a classic automobile, or proudly supporting his beloved Bulldogs, he embraced each moment with gratitude and enthusiasm. His life was a testament to the importance of family, friendship, service, and finding joy in life's everyday blessings.

Though his physical presence will be deeply missed, his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May all who knew William find comfort in the many cherished moments they shared with him and in the lasting legacy of love he leaves behind.
