Funeral Services for Mr. William A. Harris, Jr. will be held Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 11:00AM. Location: Sandy Ford Baptist Church 2614 US 80 West. Interment will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens 2986 US Hwy 80W, Dudley, Georgia. Rev. Darryl K. Moore will serve as eulogist.
Mr. William A. Harris, Jr. was born January 13, 1939 to the late William A. Harris, Sr. and Cassie Juanita Harris in Mecklenburg County, Virginia. He departed this life after a long illness on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at RHC Hospital in Macon, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his son Marvin Stockling.
He was affectionately called "Bill" by his friends and "Daddy Bill" by his Grandchildren and Godchildren. William served his country in the United States Army, and retired from the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in New Jersey. After thirty-five years of service he and his wife relocated to Dublin, Georgia, where he was a devoted member of the Sandy Ford Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Darryl Moore.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of thirty-nine years, Mrs. Jerrier Earlene Harris of Dublin, Georgia; one son, Charles Bernard Allen, of New Jersey; two daughters, Peggy Bush, of Newark, New Jersey and Sophie A. Edwards, of Rahway, New Jersey; three granddaughters, Tanesha Garnett, Taija Edwards, and Tory Edwards of Rahway, New Jersey, two great-grandsons; Karter, Robinson, Alton (AJ) Williams, of Rahway, New Jersey, two brothers; Robert (Mildred) Harris, of Old Bridge, New Jersey, George (Brenda) Harris, of Irvington, New Jersey, five sister-in-laws; Luetrella Allen, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, Vivan (Joseph) Randolph, Myrtle (Linton) Evans, Stacey Kurtz, Margaret Kurtz of Montrose, Georgia, one brother-in-law; Thomas Allen, of Roselle, New Jersey, adopted mother Ms. Jane Collins and a host of godchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles; his Sandy Ford Church family and close friends.
Public viewing will be held Friday, September 23, from 4:00-8:00PM at the funeral home.
Serenity Funeral Home, Dublin has charge of arrangements.
