Funeral Services for Mrs. Bernice Polen will be Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 11:00AM. Location: Serenity Funeral Home 414 Telfair Street. Interment will follow at Swainsboro City Cemetery 101 West Main Street Swainsboro, Georgia.
Mrs. Bernice Polen was born August 17, 1934, in Swainsboro, Georgia to the late Eddie Roberts, Sr. and Annie Mae Carswell-Roberts. She was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Pearson; siblings, Eddie Roberts, Theodore Roberts, and Ann Ortiz. Our sweet and devoted Bernice transitioned to the great cloud of witnesses Sunday, November 14, 2021.
Bernice joined Franklin Grove Baptist Church at an early age. She received education from Emanual County Schools. Later, Bernice moved to West Palm Beach, Florida where she began employment at the Dorset House for many years. Furthermore, she traveled back to Georgia and continued her membership at her childhood church, “Franklin Grove Baptist Church”, and became the “Mother of the Church.”
Bernice leaves to cherish her memories her children; loving daughter and caregiver, Faith Polen of Hinesville, Georgia, Jackie Polen of Swainsboro, Georgia, Gwendolyn Battle of Dublin, Georgia, Bernice (James) Vickers, Deborah Polen, Gloria (Smith) Fortune, Janice (Emmit) Miller, Melinda Pearson of West Palm Beach, Flordia, Larry Polen of Macon, Georgia, Calvin (Pauline) Polen of Riverton, Wyoming, Florida; 28 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, God daughters Ann Newton, Wanda Mason, and Cheryl Shelton, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
