Betty Jean (Manson) Josey

Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty Jean Manson Josey will be held Monday, January 18 at 11:00 AM at Reedy Springs Baptist Church Cemetery 930 Rentz Dexter Road, Rentz. Rev. Charlie Robinson will officiate.

Betty Jean Manson-Josey affectionally known as “Betty” and “BJ” was born July 16, 1945 to the late Ellis Manson, Sr. and Nellie Mae Jones of Irwinton, GA. She departed this life here on earth and was called home on January 13, 2021.

Betty was a member of the Reedy Spring Baptist Church in Rentz where she served faithfully and on the Hospitality Committee. Betty attended the Wilkinson County High School. After high school she was employed with Bassett Furniture Warehouse before retiring.

Betty also enjoyed cooking, fishing, and spending time with her family. She cherished spending time with her grandchildren also.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ulysses Jones and Henry Jones and brother -in-law Greg Reese, sisters Faye Manson and Sharon Manson-Marbury.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her children, Alfred Josey, Milledgeville, GA, Yolanda Guyton, Rentz, GA, Royce (Kim) Josey, Portsmouth, NH, sisters, Doris Jones-Reese, Gordon, GA, Sandy Manson, Killeen, TX, and Carolyn Mills, Irwinton, GA, goddaughter, Dr. Angela Martin, Anniston, AL, nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.

Public Viewing will be held on Sunday, January 17 from 12-7PM.

Serenity Funeral Home, Dublin has charge of arrangements.
