Bobby Lee Colson, Jr.

Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Bobby “Bob” Lee Colson, Jr. will be held Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. Location: Greater New Bethel Baptist Church - 2407 Rocky Creek Road Macon, Georgia 31206. Reverend Arthur L. Gordon will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow at Cherry Blossom Cemetery – Lizella, Georgia.

 Bobby Lee Colson Jr., a beloved Son, Father and Brother, closed his final chapter here on earth, Monday, November 3rd, 2025, to enter his eternal rest. He was born December 16, 1974, to the parentage of Mary & Bobby Colson Sr. Bobby, affectionately known as "Bob", was a native of Macon, Georgia. He attended Bibb County Public Schools, graduating from Central High School in 1992, where he was a participant of the ROTC Program. He was employed by Macon Bibb County Public Works Department until his health began to decline.

Bob gave his life to Christ at an early age. He was a member of Greater New Bethel Baptist Church from his childhood. Bob loved life, loved laughing and the outdoors. He was an avid gardener, fisherman and artist, creating awesome art drawings and reciting spoken word poetry. Bob leaves a legacy of love and kindness. His presence will be greatly missed.

Bob was proceeded in death by his grandmothers, Ernestine Hill and Geneva Colson; grandfathers, Samuel Colson Sr. and Carey Wallace; aunts, Gwendolyn Hamlin, Linda Howard, and Carolyn Hill-Jackson; uncles, Johnny Hill, Michael Hollis, and Rodney Holmes; and one nephew, Christian Turk.

He leaves to honor and cherish his memories: his parents, Mary & Bobby Colson, Sr.; daughter, Chaqunta Hollingshed; two grandchildren, Harmony & Caleb Hollingshed; three siblings, Berinda Turk, Katenia (Otis) Lucas, Jacinta (Nikkia) Nelson; a devoted companion, Melanie Gaskins; six aunts, Carla (Kevin) Hathorn, Barbara (Gregory) Griggs, Shirley McKay, Diane (Edward) Patterson, Patricia Raines, Kimberly Webb; one uncle, Reverend Ludie Jackson of Atlanta, Georgia; two nephews, Ian Lucas and Connor Nelson; sister in love/cousin, LaTrina Jackson- Bryant; six god sisters, Stacy Daniely, Sabrina Drayton, Torre Massey, Chyla Morgan, Monique Mullins, Kimberly Watson; god brother, Terry Bridges and several cousins and friends.

Public viewing and visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church.
