Carolynn Louise (McLeod) Moorman, 77, of Dublin, Georgia, went to be with her beloved Savior Jesus Christ, peacefully on July 30, 2025.
Born on June 20, 1948, Carolynn grew up an “army brat” and lived in several places in the United States during her childhood. She, herself, proudly served her country in the United States Air Force for four years where she met her future husband, William Curtis Moorman, Jr. Being an Air Force wife, she continued to move around the country while raising her family.
Carolynn loved art and music. She studied voice at Chaminade University in Honolulu and couldn’t get enough of what she called “moldy oldies.” She taught art at her childrens’ school in Illinois, made clothes, recovered furniture, arranged flowers, painted, sketched and always had endless art and craft projects in the making.
She worked for many years at the USDA Farmers Home Administration in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to Dublin upon her retirement.
Carolynn had a deep, unwavering passion for helping those in need, formed by her Christian faith and Jesus’ example. Whether it was offering a warm meal, a listening ear, or a word of encouragement, she made it her mission to care personally, materially and spiritually for the homeless and hurting. Her love extended beyond people to animals as well—she was a strong advocate for animal welfare and gave many four-legged friends a loving home.
She is survived by her children, Rachel (Dwayne) Bassett of Charleston, SC, and Jon (Carra) Moorman of Niles, MI, as well as her seven cherished grandchildren: Liam, Elhanna, Aiden, Quinn, Aubrielle, Killian, and Rowan Moorman. Carolynn is also survived by her siblings Teresa Kane, Eileen McLeod, Rod McLeod, Gary McLeod, and Mike McLeod and several nieces and nephews.
Carolynn will be remembered for her fierce compassion, and her unwavering dedication to the overlooked and underserved. Her legacy of Christ-like love lives on in the lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to local homeless shelters or animal welfare organizations in Carolynn’s memory.
