With deep love and gratitude, we announce the peaceful passing of Clara Dale Bridges, born on February 5, 1958. She departed this life on June 21, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, family devotion, and community spirit.
Clara was born in Cochran, Georgia and grew up as the cherished daughter of Emett and Clara Fountain. Guided by her parents’ generous example, she cultivated a life filled with compassion, humor, and unwavering love. Raised in the spirit of kindness by her parents, Clara brought that same compassion into every aspect of her life. A proud attendee of Cochran High School, she carried lifelong friendships and fond memories from her school days.
Her daily delight included brewing the perfect cup of coffee each morning—a ritual she treasured, often sharing a cup while exchanging stories. Among her greatest joys was her granddaughter’s pitbull, Bullet, whom she loved dearly and treated as family.
Clara built a life of profound partnership with Willis Bridges, her devoted husband and lifelong companion, who preceded her in death. Their marriage was a partnership grounded in mutual respect and affection, enriching the lives of all who witnessed their bond.
A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt, Clara took immense pride in her family—raising her children with warmth and wisdom, and delighting in the company of her grandchildren, whose smiles brightened her days.
Clara was preceded in death by Willis Bridges, her devoted husband; her parents, Emett and Clara Fountain; her son, Calvin Bridges; three brothers and four sisters.
Her legacy lives on through her daughter, Clarissa Bridges; grandchildren: Blake McDuffie, Callie McDuffie, Devin Barnett, Ethan Barnett, Alana Barnett, and Tylee Barnett; 8 great grandchildren; siblings: Buddy Fountain, Barbara Gilbert, and Carol Stokes; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Her love will continue to live on in every life she touched, and her memory will forever bloom in the hearts of her loved ones.
