Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Clyde James Hill will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:00AM. Location: Mt. Tilla Missionary Baptist Church 2424 Hwy 441 South – Irwinton, Georgia 31042. Pastor Harold Banks will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
Clyde James Hill was born December 8, 1947, to the parentage of Lewis Salem Hill and Mary Jane Watkins Hill.
After high school, Clyde left for Miami, Florida where he worked for 30 plus years and retired from the City of Miami Beach. Once retired he returned home to Georgia, to be close to the family he adored. He was a skilled tradesman with years of expertise in various trades, showing attention to detail in every project he undertook. He had a great fondness for cars, games, sports, western shows and people. These passions brought him immense joy and connected him with many wonderful individuals. His generosity and selflessness made him a beloved figure as he frequently volunteered his time and resources to assist his church, neighbors and friends in need.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Lewis S. Hill and Mary Jane Hill and his siblings; Clinton Hill, George Lewis Hill, Edgar Eugene “Gene” Hill, Freddie Joe “Red” Hill and Tommy Hill.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Mildred S. Hill; children: Vita (Patrick) Redding, Rawn (Brittany) McPhee; siblings: Bonnie Lattimore, Janice Harris and Jack Hill; brother and sister-in-law’s: Debra Smith Clinch, George (Cheryl) Smith, Larry (Veronica) Smith, Robert C. Smith, Jimmy Roger Smith and Dena Mae Hubbard; grandchildren: Patrick James and Christopher Redding, Zy’inn Martin; great-grandchildren: Jatavius, Jasmine, Aliyah, Alayja, Jabari and Jyaire Redding; nieces and nephews: Randy and Marie Hill, Antiono and Demetrius Mobley, Tony and Gene Lattimore, Marcelle Sparks, Jacklyn Hill: great nieces and nephews: Shawana and Dondricus, Anderson Myria, Krystal, Yolanda, Shalonda Sparks and a great host of other nieces, nephews and relatives.
Public Viewing will be held Friday, March 7, 2025, at the funeral home from 10:00-7:00PM.
