Celebration of Life Services for Curtis Louis Stracener will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2025, at 11:00AM at Mt. Zion Baptist Church 1750 Mark Wood Road, Rentz, Georgia.
Curtis Louis Stracener, 88 years of age, passed on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at his home in Rentz, Georgia.
Curtis was born November 21, 1936, in Alabama to the late Luther and Ida Stracener. He was the 9th of ten children, eight preceded him in death.
Curtis was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1960 and later married the late Jean Stracener in the same year and two children were born from this union. Before her passing, Curtis and Jean celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Curtis worked as Quality Control Officer at Boeing in the NASA program, earning his name on microfilm displayed at Smithsonian Institution as well as in a capsule left on the moon. Curtis proudly held the title of Quality Control, Man of the Year for Boeing. Curtis also served on the security detail at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama and was assigned to the President Kennedy detail in 1963.
Curtis moved the family to Rentz, Georgia in June 1970 where he surrendered his life to the ministry of Jesus Christ and served as pastor of several Baptist Churches in Laurens County and surrounding areas.
Curtis leaves to cherish his loving memory, a sister, Mildred Deen Hanby; his children, Tony (Allison) Stracener and Kim (Gary) Robinson; grandchildren, Candace (Dealous) Williams, Jared (Brandi) Reagin, Brandon Reagin, Zach (Megan) Suerdieck, Amanda (Jeff) Goodwin, Nathan (Meghan) Suerdieck, and Courtney (Matthew) Still, Keenan Robinson, and C.J. (Megan) Robinson; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Public Viewing will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 5:00-7:00PM at the funeral home.
