Graveside services for Mr. Eugene “Tal” O’Neal will be held Monday, May 4, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Shady Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, 679 Shady Grove Church Road, Dublin, Rev. Dr. Winfred L. McCloud will deliver the eulogy with Pastor W. Vincent White, officiating.
Mr. Eugene "Tal" O’Neal, 86, passed Thursday, April 30, 2020 at Serenity Place Hospice. He was born August 26, 1933 in Laurens County, GA, the son of the late Herschel and Magnolia O’Neal. Mr. O’Neal joined Springhill Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Johnny Ford, Willie Frank O’Neal, Eula Pearl Terry, Estoria Smith, Hattie Mae Taylor, Doretha Coley, and Ethel Thomas.
Surviving in addition to his devoted wife of 68 years, Ella Mae O’Neal, his children Eulene Elaine (Willie) Evans, Walter (Sandra) O’Neal, Linda (Jimmy) Ussery, Fred (Janice) O’Neal, Larry (Amy) O’Neal, Vincent O’Neal, Genola Jackson, Lawanda (Gerod) Duff, Spencer (Coylitia) O’Neal, and Marquita (Don) Timmons; 16 grandchildren that he personally nicknamed, Kenneth (Via) Evans, Antonio (Tiffany) O’Neal, Terrence O’Neal, Kelvin (Lindy) Evans, Rafael O’Neal, Daryl (Amanda) O’Neal, Ric Ussery, Joia Jackson, O’Nealia Ussery, Elliott O’Neal, Marissa O’Neal, Donovan Timmons, Stone O’Neal, Jaydon Timmons, Bethany O’Neal, and Marandon Timmons; and 12 darling great-grands who adored their “Pops”; and supportive siblings Corine Manning, Florine King, Dorothy Wells, Janice (Danny) Pittman, Herschel O’Neal, and Frank (Leola) O’Neal. Also, he had a deep affection for his in-laws, Mildred O’Neal, Felton Coley, Walter Thomas, Carrie Billue, Horace Blue, Marvin (Teresa) Blue, Ceola Stephens, Suzanne Smith, Alberta (Winfred) McCloud, Katherine (Billy) Strickland, and Sharon (Ronnie) Couch with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Public Viewing will be held on Sunday, May 03, 2020 from 2-6PM at the funeral home.
