Funeral Services for Pastor Jimmy Ellis Cordy, Sr., 70, of East Dublin, Georgia, will be held at 12:00PM, Monday, October 7, 2024, at Agape Fellowship Ministry, 600 West Moore Street, Dublin, GA 31021. Pastor Ricky Stanley will deliver the eulogy. Pastor Ryan Wells will officiate. Interment will be at the Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Milledgeville, Georgia.

Pastor Cordy was born January 07, 1954. After graduation from Johnson County High School in 1972, he enlisted in the United States Army and served faithfully and received an honorable discharge. Pastor Cordy was a man of passion with unwavering dedication to serving others. Throughout his life, he touched the lives of many through acts of kindness, compassion, and selflessness. He worked as a Dublin Police Officer for many years before he changed careers and begin working as a carrier for Federal Express until he retired. He was a member of the Thompson Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Donovan, GA, before going on to pastor Georgia Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Tennille, GA, and Rock Springs Baptist Church of Wrightsville, GA, and he was the Senior Pastor at Agape Fellowship Ministry until he retired from the ministry.

Pastor Cordy passed away September 30, 2024, at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin. He will be missed immensely by his family and friends. Especially by his grandson, Marcus, who he held a special bond with, and he called him “My Polo”.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ellis (Carrie Lee) Cordy, Sr., and Eulene Minor Thomas, grandparents, Roebuck Cordy and Ada Cordy, Elmo Minor, Sr., Eunice (Bostic) Minor, Pearl Sams and Floyd Jackson, James Thomas and Julia Kate Thomas, four brothers, Jerrod Thomas, 1SG (retired) Gerald L. Thomas, William (Little Bit) White, Jerry White, Edward Cordy, a niece, Anita Kwan Taylor, sons, Jimmy Cordy, Jr., Octavious Tyshawn (Natalie) Linder, and Jamel (Faith) Cordy, and by one precious granddaughter, Baby Bella Ann Linder.

Pastor Cordy leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife of thirty years, Pastor Elizabeth Lovett Cordy, son Pastor Reginald (Gisela) Cordy, Sr., of Dublin, three stepsons, Joseph (Sharie) Givens and Antonio (Christon) Givens, of Dublin and Pastor William (Gloria) Givens, of Atlanta, a daughter Christina Ervin of Wrightsville, two stepdaughters Wanda Givens and Shana (Larry) McGirt, of Dublin, twelve grandchildren Dante (Kierra) Cordy of Rincon, Maurice Cordy of Atlanta, Jamie Wright and Natalie Psalms Cordy of Wrightsville, Braylen Linder of Dublin, Shykemmia Ervin of Wrightsville, Amani Cordy, Aiyanna Cordy, and Reginald “RJ” Cordy, Jr. of Dublin, Elijah Cordy, Grace Cordy and Samson Cordy of Dublin, thirteen step-grandchildren, Daisha Givens of York, PA, Dejanay Givens, Jayla Givens, Jordan Givens, Joseph Givens, Marcus Givens, Sequon Wynn, Makayla Givens, and Antonio Givens, Jr., of Dublin, Asher Givens, Isaac Givens, Jedidiah Givens, and Ella Rose Givens of Atlanta, siblings, Willie E. (Jacqueline) Davis of Dublin, James Lee Hunter, Sr., of Wrightsville,  Bobbie Lee (Leslie) Thomas, Jr., of Columbia, South Carolina, Reverend Kenneth (Yvette) Cordy of Augusta, Reverend Dr. Hayward Cordy of Wrightsville, Marie Cordy (Pastor Benny, Sr.) Brantley of East Dublin, Judy Ann (Antonio) Graddy of Wrightsville, Sandra Faye (late Joel) Merrell of Wrightsville, Mary Lois White, Elder Jasper (Vickie) White, Jr., Henry (Pam) White, Sr., all of Plant City, Florida, Annie Kate Knighten of Belton, Texas, Charlie Mae Price of Augusta, Georgia, James (Liz) White of Lakeland, Florida, two aunts, Doris Minor of Fairburn, Georgia, and Lois Brown of Brooklyn, New York, one uncle, Herman Minor of Brooklyn, New York, and six sisters-in-law, Pearl (Darby) Harris, Sara (Anthony) Simmons, Debrann Lovett, Janice Harrell of Dublin, and Debra (Elmo) Jordan and Mariann Dixon of Soperton, a brother-in-law, John Lovett of Williamsport, PA, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Public Viewing will be held Sunday, October 6, 2024, at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00PM.
