John Allen Chapman, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born December 2, 1969, to Joseph Chapman and Mary Louise Chapman, John brought joy and laughter into the lives of everyone who knew him.
A true jokester at heart, John’s favorite pastimes included fishing early by the lake, spontaneous karaoke nights, and dancing with and spoiling his grandbabies. Whether belting out a classic tune or telling his next joke, his sense of joy and warmth was infectious.
John was preceded in death by his two daughters, Heather Chapman and Angel Chapman, and by his parents, Joseph and Mary Louise Chapman. Though their loss was immense, John’s spirit and humor never waned.
He is survived by his daughters, Danielle (Sam) Patel and Lisa Chapman; siblings: Doug (Nora) Chapman, Bonita L. Pegg, Esther (Joe) L. Pattisaull, Teresa (Ed) Woodard, Scott (Sarah) Horwitz, James (Debbie) Chapman, and Peter Chapman; and six adoring grandchildren: Donovan Thomas, Kyleigh Thomas, Ariona Chapman, Emory Brown, Parker Brown, and Ramses Lawson. John also leaves a large extended family of 30 nieces and nephews, 30 great-nieces and nephews, and one great-great nephew.
John’s legacy is one of unbridled love, laughter, and loyalty. He had a grin that brightened any room, a quick wit that lifted spirits, and a generous heart that gave freely to family, friends, and strangers alike.
A Celebration of John’s Life—full of music, stories, and laughter—will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 3PM. Location: Serenity Funeral Home - Dublin -- 414 Telfair Street Dublin, GA 31021.
