Laverne Dunham Obituary

Laverne Dunham Glynn, lovingly known for her strength, wisdom, and unwavering love, was born on February 23, 1956, in Savannah, Georgia, to the late Guy, Sr. and Katie Dunham. She was raised with care and guidance by her maternal aunt, Bessie Boles, and Willie Smith, who helped shape the remarkable woman she became.

Laverne was united in marriage to Robert Glynn, with whom she shared 41 years of love, commitment, and partnership. He preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Guy Sr. and Katie Dunham; her maternal aunt, Bessie Boles; her beloved twin brother, Tyrone Dunham; her sisters, Elnora G. King and Katie L. Dunham; and her brother, Guy Dunham Jr.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving siblings: Flossie Burgess, Ruby Riley, Mary Dunham, Susie (Earl) Law, and Harry (Dora) Dunham, all of Savannah, Georgia; David Hunter, Daryll Hunter, and Jeanette Dunham, also of Savannah, Georgia; her sister-in-law, Mary Dunham (wife of the late Tyrone Dunham); and her sister-in-law, Beatrice Chambliss Moran of Macon, Georgia; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever hold her close in their hearts.

Laverne was the matriarch of her family—a guiding force who commanded respect, led by example, and loved deeply. She stood firm in her values, spoke truth with strength, and gave her love freely to those she held dear. Her presence brought guidance, her words brought wisdom, and her love brought comfort.

Through her strength, her lessons, and unwavering devotion to family, Laverne leaves behind a legacy that will never fade. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always remembered.
