Linton "Flint" Smith

Funeral Services for Mr. Linton Smith will be held Saturday, December 24, 2022 at 1:00PM. Location: Serenity Funeral Home 414 Telfair Street, Dublin. Kendrick K. Mack will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow at the Smith Memorial Cemetery 1280 David Mullis Road, Rentz.

Mr. Linton “Flint” Smith was born July 4, 1946 to the parentage of Marie Smith and the late Lemmie Smith in Dublin, Georgia. He departed this life Friday, December 16, 2022.

Linton was well-known as Lenoard and Flint. When in good health, he was the life of the crowd, making everyone around him laugh.

In his younger years, he worked as a custodian in the Laurens Memorial Hospital and the Old Southwest Laurens High School. He was also employed by B&K Construction and a laborer for the Chalk Mine. After declining health, he was unable to walk.

His hobbies were shopping for his clothing, which he called his “fine threads”. He also loved watching Westerns, Old Comedy Shows, and the Soap Operas.

His memories will be remembered by his loving and devoted mother, Mrs. Marie Smith Salter, siblings, Jeanelle Hammonds, Nathaniel Smith, Brenda Moore, Lennie Tharpe, and Keith Stanley, sister-in-law’s, Karen Smith, and Rosie Smith, his long-time friend, Henry Josey, Wayne Lowery, Andrew Wright, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Public Viewing will be held, Friday, December 23, 2022 from 4:00-7:00PM at the funeral home.
