Mr. Manuel Watson Spivey, age 66, peacefully departed this life on April 27, 2026. He was born on December 28, 1959, to the late Tom W. Spivey and Nellie Wood Spivey.
Manuel was one of ten children born to this union, growing up surrounded by a large and loving family. He was a devoted husband, having shared 46 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Mrs. Melanie Williams Spivey. Their enduring bond was a testament to love, commitment, and partnership.
Manuel left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He had a kind spirit, a warm presence, and a way of making connections with people from all walks of life. He was a man of the Baptist faith and carried his beliefs with quiet strength and humility.
Manuel found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed riding his side-by-side and picking up cans around the Rentz area. He was known as the “Can Man”. He especially loved spending time at the beach, creating memories with those he loved. He also had a special love for his cherished furbabies, Koda and Duke, who brought him great joy and companionship.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom W. Spivey and Nellie Wood Spivey; his sister, Marjorie Spivey; and his father-in-law, Luther Alfred (Mattie Folcher) Williams.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his devoted wife, Mrs. Melanie Williams Spivey; his siblings, Linda Purdee, Sylvia Jones, Samuel Spivey, Romaree (Larry) Douglas, Elizabeth (Clayton) Tanner, Judy Savage, Tommie Jean Graham, and Joseph Spivey; brother-in- law: Luther Kim (Debra) Williams; his beloved furbabies, Koda and Duke; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Mr. Spivey’s life will be remembered for his devotion to family, his friendly spirit, and the simple but meaningful ways he made the world a better place.
