Mary White Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Helen Wynn Parker White will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Location: Serenity Funeral Home-414 Telfair Street, Dublin. Rev. Winfred McCloud will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow at the Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, 494 Evergreen Road, Dublin.

Mary Helen Wynn White, 88, daughter of the late Bernard Lee Wynn Sr and Clara Wynn Tinsley passed away peacefully at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon on Sunday, December 26, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bernard Lee Wynn Jr, husband of 65 years-Walter D. White, grandson Louis Parker III and daughter, Carolyn Parker Haggins.

After retiring, she and Walter returned to Georgia and became active members at her home church, Spring Hill Missionary Baptist Church, until their health began to fail. Mary was educated in Laurens County, received her LPN degree in 1952. In 1977, she graduated with an RN degree from Dutchess College in Poughkeepsie NY. She felt that her calling was working with veterans. She was employed at Castle Point VA Med Center in NY. While there she was Sr. Vice-President of the DAV. She later went on to work at the Tuskegee VA Med Center and the Montgomery VA Med Center. Upon returning to GA, she worked at the Perry Hospital in Perry GA. She also volunteered with hospice in Houston County.

Mary and Walter traveled the world during his 20 years in the Air Force and she spoke German fluently.

Mary was a resident of Antebellum at Arlington in Macon and was the reigning Ms Antebellum.She was known for her bright and energetic personality. She was always the life of the party.She loved helping others and enjoyed spending time with family. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life.

She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Louis Parker Jr (Jeannie) of Hemet CA and Michael White of Warner Robins. Grandchildren, Stephanie Haggins Boone of Perry, Stephen Haggins, ReginaTownsend, Carlos Parker and great-granddaughter, Alexis Boone. Siblings, Louise Wynn Pointerof Nashville TN, Claire (David) Boston of Dublin and Gregory Tinsley of Huffman TX. Brother-in-law, James White of Montgomery AL and sister-in-law, Eva Todd Wynn; several nieces,nephews, cousins and friends.
