Mary Ellen (Martin) Wright

Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Mary E. Wright will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Location: Antioch Baptist Church – 133 E Trilby Street Wrightsville, Georgia 31096. Public viewing and visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026 from 5PM until 7PM at Serenity Funeral Home - 414 Telfair Street Dublin, Georgia 31021.

Mary Ellen Martin Wright was born on November 7, 1951, in Wrightsville, Georgia to the parentage of Robert Martin, Sr. and Willie Pearl Wright.

At an early age, Mary joined the Antioch Baptist Church and attended faithfully until her health declined. She loved being a part of the “Women of Grace” ministry at the church. She attended Johnson County High School, which she never graduated from; however, she was determined to receive her diploma and ultimately pursued and received her GED. She further her education and became a Master Cosmetologist. Mary spent many of her working years in retail, working at Walmart for over 20 years, before retiring in 2016.

Mary entered her eternal rest on Saturday, January 24, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Thomas A. Wright, her parents, and her brother whom she loved dearly, Robert “Luck” Martin.

She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters: Shona Gipson and Belinda Wright; step-children: Tiffany Wright and Chad Wright of Wrightsville, Georgia; grandchildren: Ashton Thompson, Nikira Norris, Shaundre Gipson, Cameron Lewis, Ke’Ziyah and Ke’Marion Wright; great-grandchildren: Jacob Taylor, Ky’Zier Devoe, Ezekiel Espino, Naomi Lewis, and Asher Taylor; and a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Serenity Funeral Home – Dublin has charge of arrangements.
