Michael "Mike" Dennis Bannister, age 63, passed Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Mr. Bannister was born January 11, 1960 in Avenal, California, to the late L.T. Bannister and Betty Johnson Bannister.
Mr. Bannister enlisted into United States Army in 1977, during his service for our country; he earned the rank of Sgt. 1st Class and worked as a Tank Mechanic in the Gulf War. He attended Lakeside Church in Eastman, Georgia. Also, Mr. Bannister was huge football fan of UGA and Atlanta Falcons and Nascar. He loved bass fishing and golf.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Major General Jeffery Bannister; two step-children, Michael Boone and Allison Boone.
Michael leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Cynthia Bass Boone; children, Marcus (Jennifer) Bannister, Joshua (Anna) Bannister, Mande (Anthony) Woods, and Tyler Boone; grandchildren, Michael Jase, Mason, Zack, Haleigh, Braelyn, Alexa (Armondo) Perez, Jonna Lowery, Bryce Woods, Brett Woods, Catalina Perez, Kash Perez, Blakely Dean, KJ Boone; siblings, Jerry Bannister Wilmington, North Carolina, SGM (Ret.) Donald Bannister Rome, Georgia, Roger (Denita) Bannister Jackson, Missouri, Kimberly Wilson Lexington, South Carolina,Karen (Mike) Sergeant Lexington, South Carolina and Ronnie (DeLois) Bannister.
Memorial Services will be held Monday, February 13, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Serenity Funeral Home. Rev. Kevin Hammonds will officiate.
