Celebration of Life Services for Ms. Michelle Rene Capece will be held Sunday, January 11, 2026, at 2:00PM. Location: Jeffersonville Elementary School Gymnasium – 675 Bullard Road Jeffersonville, Georgia 31044.
Michelle was born October 25, 1965, in Augsburg, Germany to the parentage Jonathan B. Capece and Judy G. Capece.
Once the family arrived back to The United States the Capece family made Millen, Georgia their home, where she was a graduate of Jenkins County High School. After high school, she furthered her education with Valdosta State University and University of Phoenix where she received her master’s in education.
Michelle started her education career at Danville Elementary School with 24 years of educational experience with Twiggs County Public Schools.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jonathan and Judy Capece.
We celebrate the legacy of an extraordinary educator whose journey began in Germany and whose impact reached across the world.
Born in Germany into a proud military family Michelle learned early the values of discipline, adaptability, and service. Because of military life, they traveled extensively, experiencing diverse cultures, traditions, and communities – an upbringing that would later shape a deep appreciation for learning, people and global connection.
Education was not just a profession for Michelle; it was a calling. With a passion for teaching and an unwavering commitment to students, she dedicated her life to shaping young minds, encouraging curiosity, and instilling confidence. Whether in the classroom, mentoring one-on-one, or advocating for educational excellence, Michelle believed that every student has potential worth nurturing.
Beyond education, Michelle was known for a warm spirit, thoughtful conversation, and a genuine love for people. She carried the world with her in stories, wisdom, and compassion.
Michelle leaves behind cherished memories with family, friends, colleagues, and countless students whose lives were changed because she cared enough to teach, guide, and believe.
Though Michelle’s earthy journey has ended, her influence lives on in every lesson learned, every dream encouraged, and every life inspired.
Michelle leaves to cherish her memories: her brother, Jonathan B. Capece, II (Christy Capece); nephews and nieces, Jake Capece, Christopher Francis (Colie Francis), Amy Simpson (Brian Simpson); her extended family Jeffersonville Elementary School (JES), and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
