Paula (Kelly) O'Neil

Mrs. Paula Josephine Kelley O’Neil, age 79, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025. She was born on December 5, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa, to the late Thomas Francis Kelley and Helen Palmer Marshall.

Paula was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Mr. James O’Neil, and together they built a life centered on love, family, and dedication. From their union came two children, Helen and Erin, who were her pride and joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, John Kelley, Nancy Stella, and Mary Moates.

Paula leaves to cherish her loving memory her sister, Laura Reuter; her brother, Edward Kelley; her children, Helen Hare and Erin O’Neil; her grandchildren, Mason Welch, Trevor O’Neil, Katie O’Neil, Brody Hare, and James O’Neil; and her great-grandsons, Asher, Tatum, and Hudson Welch, along with a host of extended family and dear friends.

Paula dedicated many years of her professional life as a dietitian with the Robla School District, where she made a lasting impact through her care and commitment to the well-being of others.

In her leisure time, Paula found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved reading books, quilting and crocheting, especially alongside her sister, and cheering on her grandsons as they played golf. She also enjoyed relaxing with her favorite shows, including movies on the Hallmark Channel and episodes of Grey’s Anatomy, which she never missed.

Paula will be remembered for her kind heart, her nurturing spirit, and the love she poured into her family. Her legacy will live on in the lives of those she touched.
