Rashad “Keith” Arnold was born on February 7, 1958 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late David Lewis Arnold and Eula Mae (Howard) Arnold.
He attended Jessie Mae Jones Elementary and was a very, VERY smart young man! Here, he learned to play the cello, tuba, baritone horn, bass drum, and many other musical instruments. He was always at the top of his class and really enjoyed learning. In high school, Keith proved to be a competitive athlete and participated in various sports such as football, soccer, and track. He also enjoyed swimming -- so much that people would say he, ‘swam like a fish’.
After graduating high school, Keith served several years in the United States Air Force. During this time, he traveled the world - being stationed in Turkey, Germany, and the Philippines – and learned many languages including Spanish, French, German, and Swahili. After exiting the military, Keith spent 15-years as a postal worker for the United States Postal Services. He later attained his culinary arts degree from the Atlanta Culinary Art Institute and became a Master Chef. He cooked for some of Atlanta’s most famous black-owned restaurants, including Sylvia’s and Pity Pat Porch, creating decadent affairs for all to enjoy!
Keith was a charismatic person. He had a smile that could light up a room, and he knew how to charm his way into anyone’s heart.
Keith passed away on August 11, 2020 in Milledgeville, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his twin brother Kenneth Arnold; his Uncle William Howard; and nephew Darrius Madden. He is survived by his only daughter: Quala (Arnold) Wright; three sons: Rashad K.
