Celebration of Life Services for Mr. Robert Lee Glynn will be held Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 1:00PM. Location: White Springs Baptist Church 8625 Old Knoxville Road - Lizella, Georgia. Dr. Kendrick K. Mack, Sr. will serve as eulogist. Interment will follow at the White Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Robert Lee Glynn (Chambliss), of Stockbridge, Georgia departed this life November 25, 2025. Born on August 20, 1950, in Macon, Georgia. He was the son of the late Hattie Glynn Hawthorne and Fred Chambliss Sr.
Robert grew up in Lizella, GA and attended Pleasant Grove Elementary and Ballard Hudson High in Bibb County, GA. As a young man he ventured off to Huntsville, AL for several years before returning to Macon and later Stockbridge, GA to follow his dream in the Trucking Industry: which provided much adventure traveling east coast to west coast.
He was a member of the White Springs Baptist Church under the Spiritual Leadership of Rev. Kendrick Mack. He was preceded in death by sisters Betty Ann Pounds and Rosa Chambliss of Macon, GA; brothers Willie James Hawthorne, Willie John Hawthorne, Floyd Hawthorne, Joe Louis Hawthorne and Fred Chambliss, Jr.
Robert was a giant of a man with a loving, generous spirit to all he encountered. Robert leaves to mourn his loving wife of 41 years, Laverne Dunham-Glynn; daughter, Jarenda Haynes of Maryland; a devoted sister, Beatrice Chambliss Moran, Macon, GA; a half-sister, Bernice Dugger, Macon, GA. He will be forever treasured by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
