Ronnie Barron Obituary

Mr. Ronnie Lee Barron was born on October 10, 1957 in Sarasota, Florida and raised in Chester, Georgia. Ronnie transitioned peacefully Saturday, September 4, 2021 at Fairview Park Hospital.

Ronnie attended Chester Elementary and Middle School and Dodge County High school in Eastman GA. He was the son of the late Wilbon Barron and Annie Foskey Barron Tucker.

He was a retired truck driver of over 20 years until his health declined. He was the former owner with his wife of Barron Tire Service and R&K Trucking. He was known on the CB as Tennis Shoe. He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Wheeler County, GA. Where he lovingly sang in the choir until his health declined to where he was unable to attend. Although not attending the church physically; he still shared the love of Jesus to all.

In addition to his parents; Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother Kenny Barron, five sisters, Ann Parker, Judy Stephens, Patsy Gilbert, Kathy Jo Barron and Kay Barron. His father in law and mother in law WL & Claudia Graham.

Ronnie enjoyed country, bluegrass and gospel music, spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, hunting, camping and tending to his chickens and garden. He loved to share his crops with family and friends. His granddaughter Claudia was a big helper to Papa in his garden. He learned from his wife how to can food and loved to share their creations. He also loved to make wood working projects like birdhouses, growing flowers, petting his cat Fluffy and dog Chase. They were his constant companions when he was in the garden or greenhouse.

His survivors include his wife of 31 years Karen Barron of Dublin. His children Robbie Barron of Kibbee, GA; April Snellgrove of Milledgeville, Jeremy Durden of Dexter; Justin Durden & wife Nancy of Dublin. Grandchildren: Hope Snellgrove of Milledgeville; Jacob Durden, Abigail Durden and Sarah Durden  all of San Angelo, TX; Breanna Durden, Brent Durden & Claudia Durden all of Dublin, GA. Sisters: Joyce Allen (Doyle) of Chester and Jackie Kight of Cadwell. Sister in laws: Penny Guthrie of Dublin, Donna Bowen (Lee) of Allentown, Brother in law: Mitchell Graham of Dublin. Numerous nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.

As to carry out Ronnie’s wishes there will be no visitation or service.

The family asked in lieu of flowers that a donation be made in his memory to Heart, Diabetes or Sarcoidosis Associations or to your local church.
