Ruby Lee (Colbert) Ross

Celebration of Life Services will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 1PM. Location: White Springs Baptist Church - 8625 Knoxville Road Lizella, GA. Public viewing is being held, March 14, 2025, at Hicks & Sons Mortuary - 2233 Anthony Road Macon, GA.

Mrs. Ruby Lee Colbert Ross was born November 17, 1950, to Mr. Jimmie Clarence Colbert, Sr., and Mrs. Charlie B. Robinson in Roberta, Georgia.  She departed this life on Friday, March 7, 2025, at Piedmont Macon Hospital.                                                    

She was united in holy matrimony on July 11, 1972, to Mr. Walter L. Ross. Ruby graduated from Crawford County Training School (Roberta, Georgia).  Ruby was employed at Little People’s Paradise Daycare for many years.  She then assisted the Fackler Family for over twenty years; she considered these years a highlight in her life.                                                                                     

She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church (Roberta, Georgia) and later moved her membership to White Springs Baptist Church.  She was an active member of the Usher Ministry and served faithfully on Pastor Esteem's Ministry until her health declined.                                                                                        

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Jimmie C. Colbert Jr., Leonard Dixon, Wilbert Smith, Clarence Colbert, Willie Smith, Frank Smith, Stanley Hightower, and Ida Smith.                                                                         

She leaves to cherish her memories: A very devoted husband, Mr. Walter L. Ross; a loving and devoted daughter, Ms. Sherette Lee; two grandchildren that she reared as her own: Aramis Jordan and Brittney Lee; three granddaughters whom she loved dearly: Ivionna King, Armani Jordan, and Tiana Lee; siblings: Audrey (Alonzo) Jones, Fannie (Ronnie) Danielly, Eula Bonner, Edward Smith, Robert (Brenda) Smith, Carling Colbert, and Terry (Tyshel) Colbert; aunts: Hazel Coger, Bertha Robinson, Katie Colbert, and Ruby Samples; two devoted cousins: Mary Collins and Otha Davis; the Fackler/Thompson family whom she loved unconditionally; a devoted friend, Tilda Bailey; sisters in law: Mozelle Ross and Shirley Hightower; three godchildren: Emily, Will, and Matalyn; bonus grandson, Tremel Coleman; bonus daughter, Katrina (Joseph) Canady; devoted son in law, Roger Lee.  Ruby also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.                  

Serenity Funeral Home - Dublin has charge of arrangements.
