Stella Mae Davis, a devoted parent and beloved family member, passed away on January 4, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born to the late Mattie Ree and Madison Harris on July 1, 1944, in Macon, Ga. Stella Mae lived a life full of love, laughter, and connection. A proud parent of three children, she poured heart and soul into family, always making sure everyone felt welcomed, cared for, and included. Stella attended Ballard Hudson High School in Macon, Ga. She worked at Mercy University, where she later retired.
Stella Mae had a true gift for bringing people together. She believed that joy was meant to be shared and cooking was an expression of love, and every meal was an invitation to gather. Whether hosting family celebrations, lively get-togethers, or spontaneous parties with friends, Stella believed life was meant to be enjoyed and shared preferably with good food, good music, and great company. She found pure joy in cooking for others, hosting gatherings, and celebrating life with family and friends. Every meal was made with love, every get-together turned into a memory, and every moment was an opportunity to enjoy life together.
Stella Mae is survived by two children, Cynthia Harris and Cedrick S. Davis Sr. (Lartralia) and two brothers, Alfred James Harris Sr. (Carrie), Forrest Harris (Sharon); (6) grandchildren: Derinda Dumas, Laquita Harris, ZaKeria Davis, Cedrick Davis Jr, Dedrick Davis, and DeAndre Davis; (5) great grandchildren: Sierra Daniels, LaQonia Harris, DeSeana Cloud, Ashley Harris, and Harmoni Lawler; and (6) great-great grandchildren; 1 loving devoted auntie, Evelyn Dodson and 1 uncle, Charlie Jordan.
She is reunited in eternal rest with her beloved child, Evelyn Harris Sapp, her dear sister, Lottie Ree Dudley; and her parents Mattie Ree Harris and Madison Harris, whose memories remained forever close to her heart.
The joy Stella Mae brought into the world will continue to live through shared stories, family traditions, and the love passed from generation to generation. Though Stella Mae is no longer with us, the love, laughter, and memories shared will live on forever in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her. She will be fondly remembered by a host of family and many dear friends.
A life celebrated. A love remembered. A legacy that lives on.
