Mr. Stephen Alfred Simmons was born on June 1, 1961 in Dublin, Georgia. He spent 61 years living vibrantly and touching the hearts and lives of many. After an extended illness, he made his transition into heaven on June 2, 2022 at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon, Georgia.
Steve was a committed family man; his family and loved ones always came first and he will be deeply missed. He was an incredibly proud and loving father; his daughter adored him, and he her.
Steve graduated from East Laurens High School. After high school, he had an active career as a talented welder, metal fabricator, foreman, crane operator, small business owner, and occasionally showed the flair of an artist, among other talents and skills. He loved life and took every opportunity to celebrate it. He loved to be free, to be outdoors, to spend time with loved ones, to cook, share, and help with anything any time he was needed. He was genuine, reliable, friendly, strong, and sincere. He had a remarkable personality and memorable vibrancy. He was joyful and hilarious and always made those around him laugh and smile.
He is preceded in death by his loving parents, Clara Foskey Simmons and Charles Alfred Simmons; and cherished brother, Timothy Charles Simmons.
Steve leaves to forever hold his memories his daughter, Sheena Desiré Simmons; brother, Nelson (Carman) Simmons; nieces, Taylor Simmons and Laura Simmons; nephews, Cameron Simmons and Steven (Dory) Simmons; a host of extended family, bonus family, and friends; and devoted dogs, Foxy and Sally.
He was engaged to Denise Register at the time of his death, and had been a devoted husband to Jackie Miller Simmons, the late Terri Dixon Simmons, and Elisha Simmons Smith.
