Vernika Danielle Harvey-Battle

The late Vernieka Danielle Harvey-Battle was born on September 30, 1989 to Dewayne Shellman and Dannie Mae Harvey.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Olivia Harvey; her maternal grandparents, Letha Smith and Daniel Harvey; and her paternal grandparents, Dorothy Blackshear-Shellman and Charlie Shellman, Sr..

"Neka", as she was affectionately known, was educated in the Charlton County School System. Neka was very sweet, fun, loving, and family oriented. She never met a stranger. Her favorite saying was "BELIEVE IT!"

On March 12, 2021, she and Joie Lee Battle were joined in holy matrimony.

On February 3rd, death angels came and took her to her Heavenly home.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, Joie Lee Battle; her mom, Dannie (David) Mae Harvey (Folkston, GA); her dad, Charlie Dewayne Shellman, Jr. (Folkston, GA); her children, Kanijah Marie Wright, Ronall Bovian Wright, and Za'Niriah Monae Harvey; sisters: Lakeisha Harvey (Folkston, GA) and Raquel Harvey (Folkston, GA); aunts: Mazell Richardson (Marietta, GA), Debra Smith (Folkston, GA), Tasha Harvey (Folkston, GA), Judy Harvey (Folkston, GA) Cindy , Veronica; uncles: Tony Harvey (Folkston, GA), Patrick Smith (Folkston, GA), Joseph Harvey (Folkston, GA),  Mandela Shellman , Mark Shellman and Christopher Shellman; 2 God-Mothers: Veronica Green (Folkston, GA) and Carrie Smith (Marietta, GA); devoted friend-cousins, Dashae Dasher and Jasmine Dasher.

Celebration of Life Services are being held Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:00AM. Location: Mt. New Home Missionary Baptitst Church - 416 Dixie Lake Road, Folkston, GA 31537. Interment will follow at Trader's Hill Cemetery.
